Mini vs Moke Shocks - is there a difference
« on: June 06, 2011, 09:07:29 AM »
Hi Everybody

Another question that came up during my chat with Mav is shocks.  Is there a length difference between Mini and Moke shocks or are they the same?

Looking in the UK they are substantially cheaper but I was unsure whether they were exactly the same or not.

Appreciate the good oil!

 ;)

Hi,

There is a thread from a couple of years ago where this was discussed but in general they are the same however some brands available are a bit shorter than most so when it comes to fitting those particular shocks to the rear of Moke with jacking rings they do not extend far enough.

This may help. The Van Shocks are the same as Big Wheel Moke Shocks

Old Moker's never die - they just smell that way

Beware also that some performance Mini shocks are too fat in the body to fit into the Moke (and Mini Van) shock towers at the rear.  Mini sedans have more space for the fat shocks to fit.

Fatter than that Mav, those should be fine.   Think it might have been Konis that didn't fit.   ;D
