Brilliant Spudie - exactly what I was after! Your number matches what I can read on mine. Thank you!

Actually easier to read in a photo. I guess they must have run out of stickers the day they made this one......

Thanks too miniDave and Dynky.

Cheers, Maddog.

What year is the moke Maddog, I wonder if it was late in the production run that
they could hand write the paint stickers or they just ran out of stock.

I think the army mokes had hand written paint stickers but I have not seen many others.

Hi Moe,

It is 1/82, somewhere in the last 400 made. I did read somewhere that 'one off' colours were hand written. There is a photo in TME of the olive drab sticker, and I read on Ausmini of Kraft Silver and Fan Yellow(!) both hand written.

At first I thought maybe Blue White was not a standard finish. But as Spudie's 1980 Moke is the same colour and has a printed sticker, it must have been a standard colour and they obviously had stickers available at one point..

Interestingly, I have 3 1982 Mokes that are all within 85 serial numbers of each other, and all of them were originally white. Unfortunately only one still has the original paint sticker (the one in the photo), but white was obviously a popular colour then, so I did wonder if maybe they just ran out of white stickers?

On the other hand, I have just had a look through my photos, and the only later Moke I have found also appears to have a hand written sticker - for Highway Yellow!

What does everyone else with a late Moke have? ???

Cheers, Maddog.

Mine's a 1979, and I also have a hand written sticker.

From memory, it's also Blue/white (and I thought that meant that some ofthe moke was blue, and some white!) but he's at work with the welder at the mo, so I cant check. But I'm fairly sure

That's interesting Appache, because mine's a 6/79 model and has a factory printed label saying Crystal White, which I thought was the normal whaite colour for Mokes. Seems strange that they would run two different types of white on the same model - unless that's when they changed it. What month is yours?

I don't know about Go faster Signal Red but one of my previous Mokes was a 1980 Cali in "Signal Red" and the sticker said "SIGNAL RED = DULON 566-30671".

I know this is an old one but I also have a hand written Dulon label of "Blue White" on my 1980 Cali.

Dean is correct of coarse, Terry and I are trying to compile a list of colours that where
used on mokes which can be found here..http://www.moke.com.au/Joomla/content/view/207/82/

We have a few more to add to it but if anyone else has any to add send me a PM.
I'm using a Dulux 'car colour index' as a reference but it lists all Leyland products by year not by
what vehicle used what colour. I would like to get hold of the other book which gives the formula
for mixing the paint.

Now back to the sub plot, what is faster, red or orange ???

I have a 78 Signal Red Cali and I note on your table that it isn't marked. So that's a big fat YES for a 1978 Signal Red Moke.

This is it in its original form (prior to respray):

Andrew,

You can add 1977 to your Devil Yellow list of years used.
