Newcastle IMD 2012
« on: August 02, 2012, 06:39:04 PM »
Hi All

Thinking of a run for IMD on 30th September.

For the Newcastle, Hunter and anyone form Central Coast or Mid North Coast all welcome?
Just needed to know who is interested.
Spoke to smokey and he should be back from his trip and he is keen to join.

I was thinking about a Drive from Raymond Terrace to Dungog for lunch.
Then returning via Morpeth to Raymond Terrace afternoon tea at Morpeth.

While talking to smokey we talk about a trip in February?? To Barrington Top
For a week end camping trip “Newie you may be interested in it also”
This is something that we can talk about when we all get together.
Please let us know if you are interested

Dungog's a fair way from me for a solo one day Moke drive and might be awkward that Sunday  :-\ . If I did come, I'd probably meet you guys at Dungog and travel through to Morpeth and back home on my own from there. I'll keep it in mind, but can't make any promises  :( .

Definitely interested in the Barrington Tops camping trip though  8). Only a couple of hours from my place and somewhere I've been camping (Mokeless) several times before. That idea's been tossed around a few times in the past and we should make it happen.  February sounds good - it will start getting cold up in them thar hills pretty shortly after that.

Just realised the 1st of October is a long weekend in NSW, ACT, SA and WA  8)

Might be able to drive to Dungog and back if I get to sleep in the Monday morning and the kids don't have to go to school  :)

I think the first option is the better of the two but at this stage we might not be on the road so if we come we will be just as happy to tag along on either

Evening Woody
If choosing one was a must i would say the first one as i do part of the second one quite often but really it does not matter to me.I think the main thing is to get out and go for a drive with as many people as we can.I know of two or three more around this area here but have not been able to catch up with the owners as yet

Hi Woody,

I can't get down there on Sunday either, sorry  :(

Have you contacted Smokey Pete? He came back on mid August all fired up and then disappeared again. Might be worth a PM as he hasn't been on the forum to read the thread.

IMD Newcastle

Small turn out One Moke still went for the Run
Started At Raymond Terrace to Dungog this is where I took a slight detour
From the planned route went for a drive and had a look at a couple of camping grounds
Frying Pan camp ground the State forest North of Dungog. Rough Dirt Roads
Then to Paterson for Lunch then home.
Cool morning start with sunny day great for a Drive.

At Paterson for Lunch

Woody,

Thanks for still being part of IMD even when no-one else shows up. At least you were out there with 34 others that we know about so far. :) and it looks like you had a nice drive.

What were you checking out the camp ground for?
